I worked in industrial electrical engineering for 34 years. When my daughter sent me a link to GroundingWell for my restless legs, I laughed out loud. I told her it was modern snake oil designed to separate older folks from their savings.
She ordered it for my birthday anyway. As soon as it arrived, I didn't put it on the bed. I grabbed my Fluke digital multimeter, grounded the black lead to the earth pin of my wall outlet, and held the red lead between my fingers. My floating body voltage in our bedroom (surrounded by lamps and wiring in the walls) was 1.84 volts AC.
Then I stepped barefoot onto the sheet plugged into the ground port.
The meter immediately dropped to 0.012 volts. The conductive silver grid is completely continuous. The 50k-Ohm safety resistor in the cord is legitimate. There is zero current flow, purely an earth reference.
Electrically, it does exactly what physics says it should do. But did it help my sleep?
I’ve had burning, restless legs every night since my late 50s. Night 1 to 3, I didn't feel much difference besides the cotton feeling soft and cool. By Night 8, I realized I hadn't kicked the blanket off once. By Week 3, the deep aching in my calves had dropped from an 8 out of 10 to a dull 2. I have slept 7 uninterrupted hours four nights in a row now. I hate admitting when my daughter is right, but this product is the real deal.
